Vacuum circuit breaker (VCB) panels are the medium voltage switching and protection assemblies at the incoming end of an industrial power system. PPT supplies indoor draw-out VCB panels for 11kV and 33kV systems with numerical protection relays, CT and PT metering, busbar chambers and cable compartments. The panels are built through our MV fabrication and OEM partners with the OEM's vacuum circuit breaker, and routine tested before dispatch.

Frequently asked questions
What is a VCB panel?
A VCB panel houses a vacuum circuit breaker with its protection relays, instrument transformers, busbars and cable terminations, used to switch and protect medium voltage circuits at 11kV or 33kV.
What is the difference between a VCB panel and an RMU?
A VCB panel is a full metal clad switchgear cubicle with a draw-out breaker and numerical protection, used at substation incomers and large feeders. An RMU is a compact sealed unit with load break switches for ring distribution and a transformer tee-off.
Do you supply protection relay settings and coordination?
Yes. We provide relay configuration, protection coordination and a settings sheet with the panel, and can support relay commissioning on site.
Are the panels type tested?
PPT does not hold type-test certificates of its own. The vacuum circuit breaker carries the OEM's type-test certificates, and every assembly is routine tested before dispatch. If your utility requires a type-tested switchboard, tell us at enquiry stage and we will propose an OEM-built panel.
