Drive Panel Manufacturer — VFD and Soft Starter Drive Panels
A drive panel houses variable frequency drives or soft starters together with their protection, filtering and cooling. PPT builds drive panels from 0.5HP to 500HP with correctly sized line reactors, dv/dt filters where cable runs demand them, bypass arrangements for critical duty, and thermal design that accounts for real drive losses instead of a guessed fan rating.
Key features
- Single-drive and multi-drive panel configurations
- Line reactor, DC choke and EMC filter selection
- Bypass (DOL) arrangement for critical processes
- Forced-ventilation or air-conditioned thermal design
- Drive heat-loss based cooling calculation
- Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Danfoss and Delta drives

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a drive panel and a VFD panel?
They describe the same assembly. 'Drive panel' is the common shop-floor term for a panel housing VFDs or soft starters with their protection, filtering and cooling.
Do I need a line reactor in a drive panel?
A line reactor is recommended where supply impedance is low or harmonics are a concern; for long motor cables a dv/dt or output filter protects motor insulation.
Can a drive panel include a bypass?
Yes. A DOL bypass with interlocked contactors lets the motor keep running at full speed if the drive is taken out of service.
